The online applications are being accepted during the month of September. For students at schools where we do not yet have a selected brand ambassador (check the list on our facebook page) you can still apply. If you are a senior in a school that serves Smart Mouth Pizza, have an interest in helping to promote the brand to fellow students in your school, get involved in planning fun promotions and activities, get cool stuff for yourself and some to giveaway, and also compete for the chance to win a college scholarship, then this is for you!

If you are interested in coming to work on behalf of Smart Mouth from June 1 through July 30th, at our marketing company’s offices in Buckhead in Atlanta, please send us an email before May 15, 2011 to apply.

1. You must be over 18 or have your parent or guardian’s written permission.
2. You need to be able to get to the offices and be available to work at least 10 hours per week (and keep a schedule!)
3. This could be just the opportunity you need to get a leg-up on your career if you are interested in marketing, social media or entrepreneurism.
4. Send your email to schools@smartmouthpizza.com and remember to send it before May 15, 2011.
5. This position will pay $5.50 per hour, and the experience will be invaluable.

Sell pizzas for a good cause between April 4, 2011 and April 29, 2011 and School Smart Mouth’s will be bonused 20 points and one point for every dollar raised or every pizza sold!.   That’s enough to leapfront ahead and finish strong with a chance to win the $1000 college scholarship.

1. Meet with you school lunch administrator to coordinate the date, and make sure they agree to make the pizzas for you to sell (After school and outside of normal school lunch hours).
2. Negotiate a price with your school lunch administrator that will allow you to sell the pizzas for more and raise money for a school organization, or an approved charitable cause.  (submit your cause for approval to your school principal)
3. Keep the pizzas in the warming box in the cafeteria, and roll it out (with permission, or course) or transfer to another hot box (they probably have one at the concession stand) to sell them.

Be sure to take pictures, and post your progress.    EVERY SCHOOL SMART MOUTH WHO SELLS PIZZA will receive the 20 bonus points.  Then submit proof of purchase for every pizza sold to us at schools@smartmouthpizza.com and you will earn one point for every pizza sold or every dollar raised. (whichever is higher).

Principal Hall is a "Smart Mouth"

The search for the Best School Smart Mouth In The South kicks off in earnest with a school run-off contest between students in the schools that serve Smart Mouth Pizza as a healthier alternative for lunch.

“We’ve got some amazing students with incredible ideas competing for the scholarship prize,” said Tom Willingham, President & Founder of Smart Mouth Pizza. “These students have the opportunity to gain terrific experience as brand ambassadors, and have some fun as their individual school representatives while competing for a $1000 college scholarship.”

“Our challenge is that we have so many great kids who have applied, or been nominated.” added Willingham, “that we are in a forced run-off at many of the schools.”

The run-off challenge is for each student applicant to write in 500 words, what they would do to get more kids in their schools to eat Smart Mouth Pizza for lunch.

The winners will be determined based on creativity, viability of the idea (can it actually be implemented) and how well they communicate their idea.

We’re still finalizing that, and we want to get you to weigh in.

Here are the current requirements and judging criteria, which will account for 75% of the decision.

School Smart Mouth—Activity List

The remaining 25% will be based on the quality and creativity of each student’s effort, and this will be judged by a star-studded panel of big mouths.  We will announce the 2010 Big Mouth Judges soon.

The Best Smart Mouth in the South will win a $1000 College Scholarship. The competition is open to seniors from every school that offers Smart Mouth Pizza. This person gets to be the brand ambassador in their school, representing Smart Mouth Pizza, getting cool free stuff, and showing that it is GOOD to be a Smart Mouth. If you are chosen to represent your school, you will get to be involved in coming up with ideas for fundraising and promotion of good pizza in your school.

The Smart Mouth School of Excellence will be determined based on an annual video competition, that each School’s Smart Mouth will help to organize and promote. The winning school–unrelated to the choice of Best School Smart Mouth–will receive a $1000 donation from Smart Mouth, and a Free Pizza Party. The person or group who submitted the winning video, will get to choose which student activity or program receives the money!
